Experience

At Cruise Affairs we have an extensive background in dealing with groups interested in vacationing together. This includes families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, fraternal organizations, church and business groups as well as family reunions and class reunions. We can even work with you to do a fund raising cruise for qualified non profits. Jim and Nancy’s previous careers were in public safety therefore we have a special expertise in dealing with the needs of those who work odd or rotating shifts and are particular about the destinations traveled to and the suppliers used.

What is a group?
A group is normally defined by the cruise line, resort or tour operator as a party of a minimum of 10 – 16 adults, with 2 to a cabin or room (cruise lines generally require the 16 unless there is a special offered on that particular sailing). The only requirements for group status is that all must start and end their vacation on the same dates, (but are not required to arrive from the same city or state) and all must be listed on the same booking handled through that supplier’s group department. It is not required that members of a group eat or interact together once at their destination. You are free to do as you please….its your vacation!

Advantages
The advantages of a group vacation are that most suppliers will offer some type of incentive that you would not get with an individual reservation, such as a discount (either a reduced fare or some type of credit at the destination or ship) and/or an amenity or two such as private cocktail parties or welcome gifts. Plus, you get to choose who you travel with.

Group Leaders
With every group we request that a “group leader” be designated. This may be the person who originally contacts us on the group’s behalf or someone chosen by the group. This is the person we will work with on any decision affecting the group as a whole. We work with each of the group members to satisfy their individual needs. As a group leader you may be able to travel for a significant reduction in price…..call to ask us how.
